I cannot see her
Though she yet stands beside me
Have I lost her heart?
Old man winter dead?
No, not until spring appears.
Go back to sleep, Nature!
Love's torture, sure death
Friendship to love turns away
The heart from pity.
Misconstrued intent
Turns friends to lovers too soon
Therefore, guard intent.
Oh, the Ides of March!
Life renewed, through death's sorrow,
The fragrance of grace.
Fate, we jumped too soon
Into passion's lovers' trap
Now we pay the price.
Internet lovers
Snail-mail too slow for passion
Again, I'm alone.
Standing on the edge
Of eternity, looking
And dawn never comes.
Kivas Fajo writes 02/27/96
Cadavers of some
Whisky bottles staring at me.
Mocking me? Who knows?
The new buds on trees
Are like your taut nipples when
I kiss them, suck them.
"Sumer is i-cumen
In, lhude sing cuccu!..." Oops! Sorry,
First we shall have spring!"
Kamiko
writes 02/26/96
A bikini wax
Ensures he gets no cheap thrills:
No fringe benefits.
Wille writes 02/26/96
Mother, child, dog
Quick smiles, crossed eyes, and a tongue -
Random gifts for me
Lake glints between dock
Planks cedar-scented, seen sun-
Bathing long ago.
Repeat button stuck
"Why me", I scream to the dog
This song drives me nuts
Minoko writes 02/25/96
Running backwards on
The speeding-up conveyor
Belt to nothingness.
Tamioko writes 02/24/96
O dignified and
Noble face: a ditto soul?
Earned? Inherited?
Jakiri writes 02/23/96
Dry ballpoint. Capture
My fleeting thought with what? Scratch
The sand with a stick.
Be warm or cool, not
Both, by turns: freezing rain could
Make you tumble too.
Tamiko writes 02/22/96
Oxygenate your
Brain by jogging - might give you
A new idea!
Green carboy now used
For wine (once in your garden)
Reminds me of you.
Lipstick, bright, hot, red
Smells of those days at the lake
Before your spouse came
Ar writes 02/21/96
Losing a quarter
To the phone, while snow pushes
Against the glass door
The skyline is bright.
It pulls tomorrow up from
The dark city streets.
Road calls me - brown dust.
Cape Cod water-blue. England...
Locked here - my cycle.
Beer bottle at curb
Shows "I Don't want a refund:-
Don't care anymore."
Tsumi writes 02/20/96
Face of an angel,
All-charming insouciant:
Do sums in your head.
Wille writes 02/20/96
Moon-stroked babbling stream
The midnight walker pauses...
Considering words.
dgibson writes 02/20/96
I had never felt
Such bliss before I saw a
Gold star by my work.
The Sage notes: True bliss can only be achieved through hard work,
exercise, and Ben 'n' Jerry's White Russian smothered in hot fudge.
Pointing a hollow
Bat at stormclouds she nods to
The ghostman on third
These summer streetlights
Radiate a bright black broth
Of moths, gnats, and bats
dgibson writes 02/19/96
Radio love songs
Fading in and out like tide
Obscured by static
Maxie weds Minnie:
No go - or, at best, a tight
Fit. Which will cheat first?
Fondle the hand at
Hand, if you can't fondle the
Hand you are fond of.
Gravestone: "Here lies Bill
Longbottom, aged three - Vita
Brevis, ars longa."
dgibson writes 02/18/96
Another failure...
Nice try, but I'm not laughing
At my fall from grace.
Ed Adelman writes 02/18/96
The old blue-rock road
Winding up the sunlit hill
Also leads back down.
Naoko writes 02/17/96
Thy rod comforts me,
And, fearing no evil, my
Cup runneth over.
Humid summer
Paper in my printer sticks
So does my brain
Late night custodian
Puzzles over
My trash can haiku
On the exercise bike
Sweating into
A favorite book
Autumn's song whispers
Gently through the fallen leaves
As time moves forward.
Haiku is sublime
Because this terse form of verse
Doesn't need to rhyme.
And yet, sometimes it does...
Our baskets empty,
Sadly we return, when - Look!
Raspberries galore!
Birches grow both up
And, mirrored, down, as we drift
Noiselessly to shore.
Why must you inspect
Each new thing that I bring home,
Impertinent cat?
Blocks of ice dug out
From sawdust horse-delivered
For summer coolers.
I thrust into her.
Hard, deep, smooth. Then I relax.
Slowly she deflates.
Five F-I-V-E
Seven S-E-V-E-N
Five F-I-V-E
Cute...

tonight. In the morning I
must bury mother.

A disappearance!
Summer's colors hang elsewhere -
Crazy hummingbird
Hitoshi writes 02/14/96
Love-making: luscious
Lubricious slip-and-slide of
Hairy, slimy parts.
Wille writes 02/14/96
Pine boughs snow bow low
Burdens bend unnoticed then-
Reeds forget the wind
Sunlight scatters shards
Mortal, the impaled souls wake
Morning's blazing ache
Richard Wall writes 02/14/96
"Be my Valentine!"
Red wrappings scream from the stores
That love is commerce
Natsumi writes 02/13/96

Wonderful to share.
DemarcoDave writes 02/13/96
Aspen blue fingers
Cold and sweet in the morning
White lace- the windows
Tojo writes 02/12/96
Big breasts I don't mind:
But yours run the whole way from
Your neck to your crotch!
Fozawa writes 02/12/96
Dyslexagnostic,
I toss and turn, wondering
If there is a dog.
Sometimes I feel like
Changing towns: making a fresh
Start as a virgin.
Squeezing out eye juice
Peeling carefully. inside--
Another onion
Like a matchbox spark
You ignite your passion's fire
Against my body
Dark before the dawn.
Bright moon sits on the pine tree
like a christmas star,
Lurking Memory!
Our parting words play again.
Tears, long dry, return.
Majioko writes 02/11/96
Sere leaves, unraked, freeze,
thaw, rot, transfusing spring plants:
Auto-composting.
Enraged,I told him:
"Be fruitful and multiply",
Though not in those words.
You have somehow fit
Big words in my small machine
I will not call back.
Cat basks in spring's ray
Too lazy to beg for the scraps
I happily toss.
Erin writes 02/10/96
Summer has arrived
Heated, burning like a fire
Blazing into Fall

Each man watching thought
The dancer's charm was beamed at
Him alone - why not?

Her luscious juices,
velvet peach still summer sweet,
rosy-warm with sun.
Some of my poems
Have too many syllables
As a result I
Nyip nap schmere nopf daah!
These are things that Satan says.
Sell your soul to him.
Climbing hot sharp rocks
At noon, I dread, yet yearn for
Night and water's balm
Hi Koo wrote 2/4, but Netcom didn't deliver it 'til 2/8
Wasting time is dumb
When I see what I've become
Couch potato bum.
In the warm fire light
My hands glide down your back, stop,
Then pull you to me
Kanzaki
writes 02/07/96
Fall mists rising thick
Dim the maple's scarlet leaves:
My flame flickers, dies.
Sakuro writes 02/07/96
Her forced cheerfulness:
The livid scabbing over
Of secret mayhem
Buzzing Mosquito
Glides down royal spiral lands
On words, TINkle Buzz.
Canoe silently
Drifts in the calm river pool;
Heron catches fish!
Moon on the river
They talk in firelight, I rest
And am whole again
The river water
Is cold and fresh, I shudder,
Plunge. Cold vanishes.
James Hutchings writes 02/07/96
Your hand on my chest
Fog on the window. Your breasts
Like soft-nosed puppies

Below one thousand - winter
Wine from summer's grapes

Autumn reflections
Of summer's warmth and new green -
The best of all days.
The dance band's music
Heard from shore at night, as I
Drift in my canoe
Erkkking writes 02/05/96
Hark! The snow melts fast...
Spring is here! It's here at last!
But it will not last.
Snow quieting sounds
I catch myself in falling
Silently to white
Water laps below
My cedar-fragrant dock as
I sun-bathe long ago.

Civilization

A huge contralto in the
Autumn of my life.
